About

Mobile platform engineer focused on delivery systems and shared platforms.

I'm Sekhar Nalla, a Lead Mobile Software Engineer based in San Jose, CA. Over the past 12+ years I've built and scaled Android applications — from early GoToMeeting/GoToWebinar work at Citrix and LogMeIn, through modernizing large consumer mobile systems, to leading Kotlin Multiplatform platform strategy at Gen.

My core work sits at the intersection of three things:

  • Mobile platform architecture — designing modular, independently versioned Kotlin Multiplatform feature SDKs shared between Android and iOS, with clean native UI boundaries and shared networking cores.
  • Engineering productivity & CI/CD — multi-repository release engineering, change-aware pipelines, remote Gradle build caching, and observability. The result I'm proudest of is a 53% reduction in mobile CI duration.
  • AI-augmented delivery — agent workflows that automate release orchestration, failed PR-check remediation, dependency updates, and Maestro-based reproduce-and-verify loops.

I care about the systems that make software delivery fast, reliable, and observable across teams — not just the features that ship on top of them. Lately I've been especially interested in how AI agents can remove manual toil from release and quality workflows without sacrificing safety or human judgment where it matters.

Outside of work, I explore developer tooling, study algorithms and system design, and learn through hands-on experiments and technical talks.
